What They're Saying: Gregg Berhalter

"We're in a difficult position because we're only allowed to play games during a certain time of year. One thing I've been a little bit disappointed in is MLS teams opting to play in FIFA windows. I think it's [infringing] on the time we have with players. I understand their situation of not wanting to play midweek games during the year, but it also puts us in a difficult spot where we have to make decisions that are difficult for both the player and the club."

-- Gregg Berhalter, on not calling in veterans Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley and Omar Gonzalez for the matches against Mexico and Uruguay because they play for Toronto FC, which has two matches during the FIFA window and right after it ends. Other younger players whose MLS teams have matches were picked: Nick Lima and Jackson Yueill (San Jose), Cristian Roldan and Seattle Sounders (Seattle), Sean Johnson (New York City FC), Walker Zimmerman (LAFC), Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy) and Corey Baird (Real Salt Lake).
