Kansas-BYU. No. 9 BYU improved to 7-0-0 when it handed Kansas its second defeat of the season with a 2-0 decision in Lawrence.
Both goals came in the first three
minutes of the second half. Cameron Tucker set up Elise Flake in the 46th minute. Mikayla Colohan followed with a goal of her own in the 48th minute.
"This was a
fantastic women's college soccer game and we were really challenged," BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. "I am impressed with our team and how we started off and how we had to fight through
at the end to hold off a surge that Kansas had. It was a great game tonight."
Pepperdine-UCLA. For the second time in a week,
Pepperdine earned a result against a Pac-12 Conference team.
A week ago, it knocked off No. 1 Stanford, 1-0, and on Thursday night it played No. 3 UCLA to a 2-2 draw in the first game of
the Rainbow Wahine Shootout.
The Waves took a 2-1 lead on goals by Chloe Gaynor and Hailey Stenberg in the second half before the Bruins recovered and evened the score
on Ashley Sanchez's second goal of the game.
