-- New Mexico Activities Association executive director Sally Marquez in a letter to coaches and athletic directors on the lack of referees for high school games in New Mexico blamed on poor parental behavior. In the Albuquerque area alone, seven varsity and 10 junior varsity matches had to be canceled or rescheduled due to a lack of officials in recent weeks. In football and basketball, schools have been banned from hosting games because of unruly parents. (Albuquerque Journal)
