Market Watch: Mexico's SuperClasico draws largest 2019 U.S. network audience for club match

Univision's broadcast of the Club America-Guadalajara match -- Mexico's SuperClasico -- averaged 2 million viewers, making it the most-watched club soccer match of the year on any network, regardless of language.

Saturday's broadcast was also the top-rated SuperClasico in the Apertura season since 2014. It was up 17 percent and 24 percent among total viewers 2+ and adults 18-49, respectively, over last year's telecast.

The UEFA Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham drew a larger audience -- 2,958,000 -- but it was split almost evenly between viewers on TNT (1,508,000) and Univision (1,450,000).

The largest audience for an MLS match in 2019: 1,609,000 viewers on Fox for the Atlanta United-New York Red Bulls match played on July 7 following the Women's World Cup final.
