Saturday morning: What's in the news ...

1. Chicago Red Stars defender Casey Short has been added to the U.S. roster for Sunday's women's friendly against South Korea in Chicago in the final match of the 2019 Victory Tour. Short, who has been one of the top defenders this season in the NWSL, was also added to the roster and played in the two games against Portugal. Midfielder Andi Sullivan was previously added to the roster for the two Korea games. The only world champion not listed on the roster is Lindsey Horan.

2. Chris Gloster assisted on the third goal as Jong PSV beat Volendam, 3-1, for just its second win in nine games in the Dutch second division. Richard Ledezma also started for Jong PSV, which escaped the basement with the win. Joshua Pynadath and Alex Mendez were subs for Jong Ajax in its 6-0 win over FC Eindhoven.

3. The UPSL has received full national league sanctioning from U.S. Adult Soccer. The UPSL, which joins the NPSL as the second nationally sanctioned league, will seek eight slots in the first round of the U.S. Open Cup. The UPSL was formed in 2011 in Southern California and currently has more than 300 teams in more than 30 states.
