plans for an early start to the 2020 preseason, which will include its first appearance in the Concacaf Champions League in February.
The Eastern Conference champions will open their 2020 preseason camp on Jan. 11 and play a pair of Brazilian clubs in Orlando at the Florida Cup 2020. They will meet Corinthians on Jan. 15 and three days later face Palmeiras.
“Corinthians and Palmeiras are two of the biggest clubs in all of Brazil," said Brazilian Heber, who was NYCFC's leading scorer in 2018. "They play great football in front of some of the best supporters in all the world. When you think of Brazilian football you think of Corinthians and Palmeiras."
On Wednesday, New York City FC announced its offseason roster moves. Four players have had their options exercised for the 2020 campaign: Luis Barraza, Sebastien Ibeagha, Ronald Matarrita and Brad Stuver. The Cityzens declined the 2020 options on five players, while American midfielder Keaton Parks’ loan from Benfica will end at the end of the year.
