U.S. Open Cup: All 12 third qualifying round winners will advance to 2020 tournament

The 12 winners from this weekend's third-round matches in Open Division qualifying will advance to the 2020 U.S. Open Cup.

The decision follows a review by the U.S. Open Cup Committee of the number of pro teams expected to be eligible for the 2020 tournament and the berths projected to be available for Open Division clubs.

A fourth qualifying round was used in last year's Open Division qualifying and conditionally scheduled this year for the weekend of Dec. 21-22.

The 12 winner will join Newtown Pride FC, the 2019 USASA Amateur Cup champion, and teams from the amateur NPSL and USL League Two.
