Thursday morning: What's in the news ...

1. U.S. U-18 defender Owen Otasowie has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal with English Premier League club Wolves after making his senior debut in December when he came off the bench in Wolves’ 4-0 Europa League win over Besiktas at Molineux. He has been on the bench for two Premier League games. The 6-foot-3 Otasowie played two games for the U.S. U-18s in 2018 and is eligible for the 2021 U-20 World Cup. His international choices also include England and Nigeria.

2. North Carolina FC has added Mike McGinty to its coaching staff as an assistant coach. McGinty spent eight years as the head coach at Saint Louis University (2010-17), where he was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year three times. He most recently served as goalkeeping coach for the USA at the 2019 U-17 World Cup. He replaces Clint Peay, who left NCFC in November to become the head coach of new Revolution II in USL League One.

3. American University named Marsha Harper is the head coach of its women’s program. Harper joins the Eagles after two seasons as an assistant coach at Massachusetts. She also spent two seasons at Richmond, another Atlantic 10 Conference program and had assistant coaching stints at Bowling Green and Northwestern State.
