Friday morning: What's in the news ...

1. Paxton Pomykal departed the U.S. men's national team's camp to return to FC Dallas and continue rehabilitation from offseason groin surgery. He will not be replaced on the roster, which now stands at 25 players. Brandon Servania, a teammate on FC Dallas and the 2019 U.S. U-20 World Cup team, has been a late addition to the U.S. camp roster.

2. The Charlotte team that will enter MLS in 2021 has appointed Thomas Schaling as director of scouting. He comes from PSV, where he worked as its international senior scout and helped identify and sign Mexican national team stars Hirving Lozano and Andres Guardado. Before joining PSV, Schaling scouted for AZ.

3. Former MLS player Ryan Pore has been named the new UMKC men's head coach. Pore, who spent time with the Kansas City Wizards and Portland Timbers in a seven-year pro career, comes to the Kangaroos from the University of Tulsa, where was on the coaching staff since 2013.
