Thursday morning: What's in the news ...

1. The San Jose Earthquakes signed Silicon Valley firm Intermedia as their jersey sponsor as part of a multi-year sponsorship agreement that will include the exclusive use of Intermedia’s technology for all business communications within the Earthquakes organization. The Quakes, whose jersey sponsorship agreement with Sutter Health ended after the 2018 season, are also seeking a sleeve sponsor. Naming rights to their stadium are also available following the end of the agreement with Avaya, which went bankrupt.

2. The North Carolina Courage signed Hailie Mace to a two-year contract. The two-time NWSL champion acquired her league rights in a trade with Sky Blue FC for midfielder McCall Zerboni and a fourth-round pick in the 2021 College Draft. Mace was taken with the No. 2 pick in the 2019 draft but opted to play for Melbourne City in the W-League and FC Rosengard in Sweden. Mace is one of four former UCLA Bruins on the Courage roster, joining Katelyn Rowland, Samantha Mewis and Abby Dahlkemper.

3. FC Bascome Bermuda will join USL League Two for the 2020 season, competing in the Mid Atlantic Division. It will become the first Bermudian team to compete in USL since the Bermuda Hogges in 2013. The focus of the team will be U-23 players pursuing collegiate and professional opportunities in the United States and Canada.
