Saturday morning: What's in the news ...

1. U.S. left back Antonee Robinson's move to Italian giant AC Milan from English Championship club Wigan Athletic on an eight-figure transfer fee collapsed at the last minute. Robinson, 22, had traveled to Milan for a physical, but Wigan issued a statement that further medical tests were required by Italian authorities that could not be completed by Italian transfer window deadline. Press reports suggested the deal collapsed over the terms of payment schedule for the transfer fee.

2. Orange County SC signed 18-year-old defender Blake Malone, who joined the USL Championship team after playing one season at the University of North Carolina. The Omaha, Nebraska, native spent two years in the Seattle Sounders academy and played at USL level for the Sounders in 2018. Malone, who played for the U.S. U-20s in January, joins U.S. youth internationals Aaron Cervantes, Diego Lopez, Francis Jacobs at OCSC.

3. Austin FC appointed Manuel Junco as chief scout tasked with scouting worldwide from his base in Europe and implementing the MLS expansion club's global scouting network. He had been the head of scouting for the Columbus Crew (2013-16) under Gregg Berhalter and most recently was the sporting/technical director with Wisla Krakow in Poland.
