Youth Movement: What's in the news ...

1. Highly regarded left back prospect Jonathan Gomez announced in an Instagram post he's leaving the FC Dallas academy. Gomez, 16, started for North Texas SC, the new FC Dallas second team, when it beat Greenville, 1-0, to win the first USL League One title. He played for the U.S. U-16s, who won the 2019 Nike International Friendlies after returning the U.S. fold following a stint in the Mexican youth system. Older brother Johan, 18, left the FC Dallas program last summer to enter Porto's youth system.

2. Konrad de la Fuente scored his first goal for Barcelona B in its 2-1 at El Prat in the Spanish third division. De la Fuente was one of five players called up for the Barcelona Juvenil A team because of Barca B call-ups to the Barca first team. He came on with nine minutes to play and scored following a solo run in stoppage time. Barca B is second in its group, three points behind Sabadell.

3. Matthew Hoppe and Taylor Booth both made contributions for Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich, respectively, in winning efforts in the U19 Bundesliga. Hoppe scored his fifth goal in all competitions in Schalke's 2-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld. Booth assisted on a goal for Bayern, a 2-1 winner over Kaiserslautern.
