Saturday morning: What's in the news ...

1. Sergino Dest has attracted interest from German giant Bayern Munich, which had a 20 million euro ($21.9 million) bid rejected by Ajax, reported Amsterdam daily De Telegraaf. The Dutch champion wanted 30 million euros ($32.8 million) for the 19-year-old outside back but is willing to accept 26 million euros ($28.5 million). He has already played 27 games in all competitions in his first season.

2. Ulysses Llanez was added to German club Wolfsburg’s roster for the Europa League, which resumes Feb, 20 against Sweden's Malmo in the round of 32. Each team is permitted to add three new players. The 18-year-old winger scored 10 goals in 11 games for Wolfsburg in the U-19 Bundesliga. Llanez has yet to play for the Wolfsburg first team but is coming off his senior debut for the USA, scoring the winner from the penalty spot in a 1-0 win over Costa Rica.

3. Ronnie Bouemboue has been named the new Eastern Illinois men's head coach. He comes to EIU following four seasons as the head assistant coach at IUPUI. The former N.C. State star replaces Kiki Lara, who stepped down to take over the head men's coaching position at his alma mater, Incarnate Word.
