Jason Kreis, the current U.S. under-23 national team coach, will be its first head coach of Fort Lauderdale CF, the USL League One expansion club operated by Inter Miami.
Kreis has
coached Real Salt Lake, New York City FC, and Orlando City in MLS, becoming the youngest coach in history to win MLS Cup when RSL won the 2009 title. After leaving Orlando City, he was named Inter
Miami's senior academy director and two months later the U.S. U-23s' head coach.
Martin Paterson,
Chris Barocas and
Mateus Manoel will complete the Fort Lauderdale CF
coaching staff. Inter Miami’s director of player development,
Darren Powell, will serve as Fort Lauderdale CF’s head coach while Kreis is away with the U-23s, who play in Olympic
qualifying in late March. Powell previously coached San Antonio FC in the USL Championship.
