Saturday morning: What's in the news ...

1. Julian Gressel agreed to a three-year guaranteed contract with D.C. United. United, which also has an option for a fourth year, used Allocation Money to give Gressel a new contract. The 2017 MLS Rookie of the Year was acquired from Atlanta United, where he started for three seasons out of Providence.

2. D.C. United will return to cable television in 2020 on WJLA 24/7 News (formerly NewsChannel 8). WJLA 24/7 News was previously United's broadcast partner for three seasons (2016-18). D.C. United voice Dave Johnson will return as the play-by-play announcer working with Devon McTavish and Claudia Pagan.

3. Former WPS and NWSL player Jordan Angeli will be the analyst on the Columbus Crew's regional television broadcasts. Fox Sports Ohio and SportsTime Ohio will air 33 of the Crew's 34 games. Play-by-play broadcaster Neil Sika and Brett Hiltbrand, the host and sideline reporter, will join Angeli on the broadcasts.
