Tuesday morning: What's in the news ...

1. The U.S. U-16 girls national team swept matches against England and Denmark while the U.S. U-16 boys (starting the 2020-21 U-17 World Cup cycle) were crushed by opponents from the same countries at the UEFA Development Tournament. The U-16 girls beat host England, 3-1, and Denmark 5-0, getting two goals apiece from Mia Minestrella and Katherine Rader over the two games and one from Lumi Kostmayer, Sofia Cook, Allison Montoya and Yuna McCormack. The U-16 boys fell to England, 4-1, and Denmark, 6-1. Both U.S. teams lost to Spain, 2-1, in their opening games.

2. The Premier League Mornings Live fan festival is headed to Philadelphia April 4-5.  The two-day fan festival organized by NBC Sports and the Premier League will take place at Dilworth Park, located outside of Philadelphia’s City Hall in Center City. NBC Sports’ studio team will broadcast Premier League Mornings Live from the event. The weekend’s top match will be the clash between defending champion Manchester City and runaway league leader Liverpool on April 5.

3. Ten teams will play in the annual Spring College Cup, a men's college spring tournament in which teams play by international rules. The entrants will include 2019 Division I champion Georgetown and runner-up Virginia in the North Division. Other participating teams will include Clemson, Duke, N.C. State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest from the ACC, James Madison from the CAA and the Big Ten's Maryland. The final will be hosted by Wake Forest on April 19.
