Friday morning: What's in the news ...

1. San Antonio FC signed Jose Gallegos to a multi-year professional contract. Gallegos, who played in the 2019 ULS Championship on a USL Academy player agreement, is considered the best teenaged prospect to ever come out of an independent USL team. The 18-year-old Gallegos played in 14 league matches in 2019. He has appeared in three preseason matches so far with SAFC in 2020, scoring three goals. He split time with his high school, Central Catholic High School, which he led to its  fourth straight TAPPS atate championships.

2. FC Dallas has signed academy midfield star Tanner Tessmann to a first-team contract. The move follows a strong MLS preseason with FC Dallas. Tessman, who played for the U.S. U-20s in January, had earlier committed to playing soccer and football on a football scholarship at Clemson University after being recruited by Clemson football coach William Christopher “Dabo” Swinney, a close family friend.

3. Orlando City has hired assistant coach Jose Maria “Josema” Bazan, goalkeeper coach Cesar Baena and strength and conditioning coach Fabian Bazan to join the technical staff of new head coach Oscar Pareja for the 2020 season.
