USL extends suspension of play for two pro leagues

The United Soccer League extends the suspension of the USL Championship and USL League One through May 10.

It had previously suspended play for 30 days through the beginning of April.

The new date puts the league in alignment with recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (on restricting public gatherings of 50 or more people.

The USL Championship played its opening games the weekend of March 7-8. USL League One was slated to begin its second season on March 27.
