Juventus players agree to forego $100 million in salary payments through June

The players and head coach of eight-time reigning champion Juventus agreed to go without pay through the end of June -- four months of salaries -- in order to save the club an estimated 90 million euros ($100 million).

Juve players include superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Sports have been suspended in Italy until April 3 but the date on which it resumes is uncertain, given the growing death toll that has exceeded 10,000.

"Juventus would like to thank the players and the coach for their commitment at a difficult time for everyone,"the club said in a statement.

Juventus added that it would reach an agreement on payments if play resumes.
