The official start of the UPSL's 2020 spring season will be delayed until May 2 but it has what Commissioner Yan Skwara
termed a "Plan B."
The current plan is to start play in the
national amateur league the weekend of May 2 -- some teams in California and Florida have already started -- and go for 11 weekends. The playoffs would follow with the National Finals weekend on Aug.
"Without wanting to be pessimistic," Skwara added, "we also have a Plan B which would still allow a spring season to be played, even if it needed to be shortened. If necessary we
are willing to push the National Finals to Labor Day weekend which would buy three extra weeks. We will address that possibility only if it becomes necessary."
