Arlington Soccer Association moves to ECNL Boys' Mid-Atlantic Conference

Arlington Soccer Association has joined the ECNL Boys, becoming the sixth club from the Virginia-North Carolina region the ECNL has announced as moving all their boys teams from the Development Academy to the ECNL.

An announcement about the new MLS youth league is expected on Wednesday.

Arlington Soccer Association has been a decorated club within US Youth Soccer over the past decade, highlighted by a USYS National Championship in 2018. Arlington SA has more than 90 competitive club teams and offers recreational, developmental, and travel soccer opportunities to over 9,000 children in Arlington and surrounding communities.  

Arlington Soccer was founded in 1970 and was the first club in Northern Virginia to offer programming across two seasons, fall and spring. It has more than 90 competitive teams and offers recreational, developmental, and travel soccer opportunities to more 9,000 children.

In 2018, it won its first US Youth Soccer national title, capturing the U-16 boys division. In 2019-20, it operated three boys teams in the Development Academy (U-13s, U-14s, U-15s). Barron Trump, the son of President Donald Trump, has played for Arlington in the DA the last two seasons.

Arlington Soccer will join the ECNL Boys Mid-Atlantic Conference that has added Charlotte Soccer Academy, Charlotte Independence Pro, NC Fusion, North Carolina FC, Richmond United, which all operated in the Boys DA in 2019-20.
