For teams around the country attempting to resume training, just how they can train depends on the state or local regulations in place for gatherings in their localities.
Ahead of the
Challenge Cup that begins on June 27, NWSL has allowed teams to resume full team training. That doesn't mean all teams can work out locally.
OL Reign plays in Tacoma, Washington, where restrictions prevented it from doing
any group activities with more than five players, let alone full training sessions. It started doing group activities in an unidentified county where they were allowed, but it has moved the team to
Montana for full training ahead of the Challenge Cup.
Initially OL Reign had planned to move training camp to Utah, but it decided at the last minute to train at the University of Montana
in Missoula for more than three weeks before heading to Utah. It will use the South Campus Stadium and the Washington-Grizzly Champions Center, where UM student-athletes were allowed to return as of
"When they started looking for locations that would offer a more open training environment," said Montana women's coach Chris Citowicki
, "they looked at Montana and
determined this was a place they could bring their world-class athletes and be very comfortable. When I walked them through our facilities on Sunday, their jaws just dropped to the ground. Everybody
