Two weeks after announcing the UWS National Cup, a cup competition for its teams seeking summer competition, United Women’s Soccer was forced to cancel the tournament scheduled to be held in
Round Rock, Texas, because of the the rise of COVID-19 cases in the area.
“Due to the increase in cases in our area and the fact that teams would be flying in, I felt that the risk
had increased to a point where we could not ensure the safety of all participants,” said Dr. Martha Pyron
, the league's medical director.
