Chicago Fire midfielder Ryan Tinsley has been traded to the San Jose Clash for conditional draft picks. Acquired from Kansas City on May 5 for Jesse Van Saun and Chicago's No. 1 pick in the 2000
supplemental draft, the Tinsley appeared in just three regular season MLS games for the Fire, playing 68 minutes. Tinsley goes to San Jose for its 2000 first-round college pick and a 2000
third-round supplemental pick. The Fire will also send San Jose its first-round college pick in the 2000 draft. If the Clash finishes with a better 1999 record than Chicago, then the Fire will
receive a 2000 2nd round college pick from San Jose, instead of the swap of first-round 1999 college picks and the third-round supplemental pick. Tinsley will report to the Clash immediately,
flying to Columbus today, as the Clash visits the Columbus Crew tomorrow night in Columbus, Ohio.
