MLS is Back opener draws almost 500,000 viewers on ESPN and ESPN Deportes

The first game back of the MLS is Back Tournament averaged 464,000 viewers on ESPN and another 28,000 on ESPN Deportes for a total of 492,000 viewers.

The Orlando City-Inter Miami game is the second most-viewed MLS regular-season telecast on the ESPN networks in the last two years. The LAFC-Inter Miami game averaged 663,000 on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.

How does it compare to other restarts in the last two months?

-- The NWSL averaged 527,000 for the North Carolina-Portland game on CBS, the first nationally televised women's pro league game ever.

-- The Manchester City-Arsenal makeup game on the Premier League's first day back averaged 518,000 viewers on NBCSN and Universo. (The first two weekend games on NBC averaged 1,049,500.)

-- The Revierderby (Borussia Dortmund vs. Schalke 04) drew 407,000 viewers on FS1 and Fox Deportes to kick off the Bundesliga's restart in May.

-- The Mallorca-Barcelona game on the first weekend in LaLiga has been the Spanish league's most-watched game since the restart on beIN Sports and beIN Sports en Espanol with 316,000 viewers.

-- The first night of the preseason Copa por Mexico on TUDN averaged 235,500 viewers for the doubleheader.

-- The first Serie A game on ESPN -- Lecce-AC Milan -- averaged 115,000.
