Youth Movement: Bryang Kayo and Kobe Hernandez-Foster join Wolfsburg

Bryang Kayo and Kobe Hernandez-Foster have signed German Wolfsburg for the 2020-21 season.

Kayo, who turns 18 on July 27, joins Wolfsburg's U-23s in the fourth-tier Regionalliga. He is a product of the D.C. United academy program before signing for the USL Championship's Orange County SC, where he didn't play in a brief stay at the club. Kayo, who trained with the USA at camps in 2019 and 2020, was a member of the 2019 U.S. U-17 World Cup team.

Hernandez-Foster, 18, will start out at the Wolves’ U-19 team. He is considered the top U.S. prospect at left back but was used at center back for the 2019 U.S. U-17 World Cup team. He played in the LA Galaxy academy through the 2018-19 season.

Americans at Wolfsburg include German-American John Brooks, a starter on the first team, Uly Llanez, who started out his first season on the U-19s but finished the season as a reserve on the first team following his senior debut for the USA, and Michael Edwards, who played for Wolfsburg U-23s in 2019-20, his second season in Germany.
