3. U.S. ABROAD: Tim Howard undefeated with Everton; bad times for Hannover

With American goalkeeper Tim Howard, Everton downed Tottenham 2-0 to remain undefeated after three games in the English Premier League. Howard, who received a 7 out 10 rating by The Sun, has given up two goals in two wins and a tie that has Everton in fourth place. Claudio Reyna did not play in Manchester City's 1-0 upset over Arsenal. Besides Howard, Brian McBride was the only American product who saw Premier League action over the weekend for a winning team. McBride, who drew the foul for the free kick that Jimmy Bullard scored for Fulham's 1-0 win over Sheffield United, got a 7 rating by the Sun.
Other Americans who started in weekend action on Day 3 of the 2000-07 EPL:
* Bobby Convey (Reading) 0-1  at Wigan (Sun rating, 4 out of 10).
* Brad Friedel (Blackburn) 0-2 vs. Chelsea (Sun rating, 5 out of 10)
* Marcus Hahnemann (Reading) 0-1 at Wigan (Sun rating, 7 out of 10).
* Jay DeMerit (Watford) 1-2 at Manchester United (Sun rating, 6 out of 10).

In Germany, Borussia Moenchengladbach, with Kasey Keller in goal, moved into fourth place with a 1-0 win Arminia Bielefeld. Hannover 96 right back Steve Cherundolo was subbed in the 67th minute of a 3-0 loss to Alemannia Aachen. Hannover has lost its first three games while outscored 2-11 and sits at the bottom of the standings. In the German Second Division, Gregg Berhalter and 1860 Munich remain undefeated after a 2-0 win over Wacker Burghausen and in third place. ... In the French Second Division, Jeremiah White scored Gueugnon's only goal in a 6-1 loss to Guingamp. It was White's fourth goal of the season.
