Around MLS: Stephen Glass will serve as Atlanta United interim coach

Atlanta United named Atlanta United 2 head coach Stephen Glass as its interim head coach while it conducts its search for a permanent replacement for Frank De Boer.

Glass joined Atlanta United in August 2018 as an academy coach for its U-17 squad. He was promoted to head coach of its second team in January 2019.

Glass played at Aberdeen and Hibernian in his native Scotland and Newcastle United and Watford in England. He concluded his playing career with a stint with the NASL's Carolina RailHawks in 2011. Before joining the Five Stripes, Glass worked as a youth coach with Triangle Football Club and the Carolina Rapids.

His staff will be comprised of holdovers Rob Valentino (assistant), Liam Curran (goalkeeping coach) and Jack Kimber (fitness coach), as well as Henry Apaloo (interim assistant) who has also been promoted from ATL UTD 2.

Academy director Tony Annan will take over as interim head coach of Atlanta United 2.

Dynamo lands Hoffmann. The Houston Dynamo signed U.S. U-20 defender/midfielder Ian Hoffmann from German club Karlsruhe. He will spend the rest of 2020 on loan with USL affiliate Rio Grande Valley FC and then join the Dynamo in 2021.

Hoffmann's father, Andrew, was a high school star in New Jersey and played at Georgetown. Ian, 18, first joined FC Cologne's youth system when his father moved to Germany on business.
