UEFA Women's Champions League: Atletico Madrid forced to suspend training

Atletico Madrid had two players, Angel Correa and Sime Vrsaljko, on its men's team test positive for COVID-19, forcing it to delay by a day its departure for Lisbon and its UEFA Champions League quarterfinal match against RB Leipzig on Thursday.

Ten days before its Champions League quarterfinal match against Barcelona in Bilbao, Atletico's women's team had to shut down training after four players tested positive on Tuesday. That came after a player was confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 on Friday.

The five infected players, who are all asymptomatic, have been isolated at their homes.

All activities at Atletico's Wanda Alcala de Henares training center have been shut down while it was disinfected.
