Around College Soccer: Boston College men will skip ACC fall season

Boston College's men's team became the second ACC team to announce that it will sit out the fall soccer season.

In a statement, the BC men announced the players and staff made the decision in light of the small squad of players on campus and cited the difficulties players had returning to campus.

The 2020 Eagles' roster listed two players each from Costa Rica, Iceland and Italy and one each from Croatia and Germany.

N.C. State announced that its women's team won't play in the fall, citing similar challenges to those at Boston College.

Fall kickoffs. The ACC season (men and women) is scheduled to kick off Sept. 10 though the conference has not yet released a schedule.

The Sun Belt (men and women) is scheduled to begin play on Friday. The Big 12 and SEC (which both sponsor only women's soccer) are scheduled to begin play on Sept. 11 and Sept. 18, respectively.
