Watch: The U.S. defender who scored twice against Brazil -- new Hall of Famer Carlos Bocanegra highlights

Although a defender, new U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame inductee Carlos Bocanegra scored 14 goals for the USA, including two against Brazil, one against the Netherlands, four in World Cup qualifying and three in the Gold Cup. (Clint Dempsey  is the only other American men's national team player to score twice against Brazil.)

Bocanegra, now Atlanta United technical director, made 110 U.S. appearances. In his club  career, after college ball with UCLA, he played for the Chicago Fire, Fulham, Rennes, Saint-Etienne, Glasgow Rangers, Racing Santander and Chivas USA.
