In the COVID-19 era, MLS schedulers are taking the piece-meal approach.
After a set of six games scheduled following the MLS is Back Tournament, teams will play three games Sept. 18-27.
The final nine games to take the MLS regular season up to the November FIFA window will be announced later. MLS: Schedule
Unable to travel back and forth from Canada to the United States or welcome visiting U.S. teams without quarantines, MLS's three
Canadian teams -- Toronto FC, Montreal and Vancouver -- will play their three games in the United States. One "home" game will be included in the mix: Montreal

MLS also confirmed that it will take 18 teams for the playoffs -- 10 of 14 teams in the Eastern Conference and eight of 12 in Western Conference. Play-in matches (No. 7
vs. No. 10, and No. 8 vs. No. 9) will be required to determine the two Eastern Conference teams that will join the top six finishers in Round 1.
Like in 2019, the 2020 playoffs will
involve single-elimination games straight through MLS Cup on Dec.12.
