Mexico will be the first Concacaf team to host an international match since the COVID-19 pandemic hit when it plays Costa Rica on Sept. 30 in Guadalajara.
Head coach
Tata Martino
picked an all-domestic squad -- 26 players -- for a training camp that runs from Sunday to Wednesday in Mexico City. For the first training camp, two former MLS players were called up:
Carlos
Salcedo (Real Salt Lake) and
Uriel Antuna (LA Galaxy).
El Tri, which has not played a game in 2020, will then head to Europe for a friendly against the Netherlands on Oct. 7.
For that match, Martino is expected to pick a team of European players.
Mexico won't have an official match until June 2021 when it plays in the Concacaf Nations League final four.
