Players on Romanian First Division club Farul Constanta were fined $2,500 to $16,600 apiece - depending on their lack of effort in the season's first two games - by club owner Gheorghe Bosanceanu for not trying hard enough. "They did not fight against Urziceni and invited Steaua to attack," Bosanceanu said. Reuters reported the fines, which totaled $130,000, were the largest in Romanian soccer history.
