College Soccer: North Carolina women hold on to top spot in rankings

North Carolina remained No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches poll for NCAA Division I women's soccer.

The Tar Heels improved to 3-0-0 with a 2-0 win over Duke 2-0 on Sunday. Carolina's Izzy Brown and Maycee Bell were named ACC Offensive Player of the Week and ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for their play in the game.

The award is Brown's first and Bell's third, after collecting a pair of ACC Defensive Player of the Week awards in 2019.

The Tar Heels are back in action against No. 3 Clemson on Thursday in Chapel Hill.

The top three teams are all from the ACC. Florida State is No. 2. The top 15 consists of teams from the ACC, Big 12 and SEC, which are all playing fall schedules.
