Tyler Adams has been
injured again, suffering a knee injury to his lateral ligament in training this week and sitting out Bundesliga leader RB Leipzig's 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
The 21-year-old midfielder will be re-evaluated next week.
Injuries kept Adams out of the lineup for most of the last months of first half season in Germany and limited him to 14 Bundesliga appearances in 2019-20. He was mostly used off the bench on the right side of midfield, scoring his first goal for Leipzig to give it a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.
For the start of the 2020-21 season, Adams returned to the starting spot in central midfield, where he excelled after his arrival at Leipizg in 2019.
If his injury is confirmed, that would surely keep Adams out of the U.S. national team camp in November. His only appearance for the USA under new head coach Gregg Berhalter came in a 1-0 win over Ecuador in March 2019.
