What They're Saying: Jim Liston

"There's really no life outside of the hotel. [At home], you may go walk the dog in the afternoon or go for a walk with your wife or friend or girlfriend or family and you're out and about. The recommendation [here] is to kind of stay put. So you've got a really active population and pro athletes, who we're asking them to be sedentary the rest of the time, kind of stay in the hotel from a COVID and safety standpoint. That's not optimal for recovery either."

-- Jim Liston, Toronto FC's director of sports science, on the Reds' home away from home -- Hartford, Connecticut, where they have been stationed since mid-September due to travel restrictions between the United States and Canada. Liston added that sleep is the No. 1 tool for recovery and survey scores on the quality and hours of sleep have dropped. (ESPN)
