USMNT: Big contributions from forwards Nicholas Gioacchini and Josh Sargent

Nicholas Gioacchini drew the game-winning penalty kick for Caen in its 2-1 win at Le Havre in France's Ligue 2, while Josh Sargentassisted on surprising Werder Bremen's goal in its 1-1 tie at first-place Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga.

Of the U.S. national team players brought in for the November friendlies, only three started on their first teams on Saturday: Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig), John Brooks (Wolfsburg) and Gioacchini.

    Josh did get an assist, but had the opportunities for so much more. He's not developed into a clinical finisher yet. 20 minutes in, inside the 6 he had a tap-in with just Neuer to beat but couldn't. 80 minutes in he had a breakaway, but coughed up the ball at midfield. There was also a breakaway 1v1 against Neuer and he decided to go near-post and was denied. Compare this to Haaland vs Hetha in the exact situation and he goes far-post to score.  These are little decisions that make the difference, hope he continues to improve. But he needs to start scoring this season.
