U.S. Soccer: Parlow Cone unopposed for president, four candidates for vice president

U.S. Soccer president Cindy Parlow Cone is the only candidate for the final year of the term of president and will run unopposed, but the race for vice president drew four candidates:

Cobi Jones (all-time U.S. men's caps leader);
Jim Sadowski (Metropolitan DC-Virginia Soccer Association president);
Bill Taylor (Idaho Youth Soccer Association president); and
Tim Turney (U.S. Youth Soccer vice chairman).

Elections will be held Feb. 27 at the virtual National Council Meeting.

Parlow Cone assumed the position of U.S. Soccer president in March 2020 following the resignation of Carlos Cordeiro. His four-year term will expire in February 2022 when another election will be held that is expected to attract multiple candidates.

Parlow Cone was elected to the position of vice president in 2019 and re-elected to a four-year term in 2020, defeating U.S. Adult Soccer chairman John Motta. The term of the newly elected vice president will extend through February 2024.
