Norwich City, which leads the English Championship by seven points, exercised its option to recall Sebastian Soto
from Dutch second-tier club Telstar.
Soto, 20, scored seven goals in 13 games in the Eerste Divisie and twice in his U.S. debut in the 6-0 win over Panama in November. He also made a late appearance in the 6-0 win over El Salvador.
Those caps were essential for Soto being allowed to receive a British work permit to play for Norwich City, which signed him as a free agent last summer after two seasons at Germany's Hannover 96.
In a release, Norwich City said Soto's return is subject to confirmation of the work permit, which will allow him to play for the Canaries.
