What They're Saying: Julian Green

"I talked with [then-Bayern Munich coach] Pep Guardiola about it and asked him what he thinks. He told me you have to hear from your heart and what your heart is saying. I remember my first [USMNT] camp was in Germany, actually, and after two minutes in this camp, I knew I wanted to play for America. I remember Clint Dempsey and Michael Bradley, they were all so nice to me, and I knew exactly that I wanted to play for this country. It was an easy decision in the end."

-- Julian Green, who scored for the USA in the 2014 World Cup at the age of 19 and is arguably the best midfielder in Germany's 2. Bundesliga with goals in his last three games for surprise promotion candidate Greuther Fuerth. Green, now 25, has not played for the USA since Gregg Berhalter took charge of the national team but says he thinks he will have had "a pretty good career, and I can be happy about it." (ESPN)
