Chicago Red Stars defender Casey Krueger has replaced defender Alana Cook on the U.S. roster for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup after Cook was not released by Paris St. Germain.
PSG denied the release of Cook due to the mandatory seven-day quarantine that would be required upon her re-entry into France. FIFA recently extended its COVID-19 rules, allowing teams not release players for international play
The former Casey Short – she got married last December -- has 32 career caps but just one in 2020, in the third and final match of the 2020 SheBelieves Cup, a 3-1 victory against Japan. Injuries have limited Krueger’s availability since then.
