spenders in the offseason, shelling out $27 million for Argentine sensation Sergio Aguero and another $20 million on Jurado and former Valencia striker Mista. Atletico's total offseason spending is
close to $54 million. Maniche, who spent six months on loan with Chelsea at the end of last season, joined Dynamo Moscow from Porto in May 2005, for a Russian transfer record $18 million but never
quite settled at the club. He is, however, a mainstay with Luiz Felipe Scolari's Portuguese national team.
