What They're Saying: Matt Lawson

“None of us are buying these tickets to re-sell them. We want to be at every single match, at every single game, that’s why we’re contemplating buying. But I do think there is a situation where they lose a large majority of the fan base before they even kick off.”

-- Matt Lawson, a 30-year-old medical sales director and part of a group of 12 soccer fans who planned to make ticket deposits for premium seating at Charlotte FC games when it begins play in 2022. They scaled back plans and will buy the cheapest seats because of the high ticket prices that include personal seat licenses that aren't transferrable if the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC owner David Tepper builds a new stadium. Factoring in the required one-time PSL fee, the expansion team's season ticket price per match for seats outside of the supporters section will be a lot higher than those of any other team.
