Yanks Abroad: Alex Mendez dishes out assist on go-ahead goal in Jong Ajax win

Former U.S. U-20 star Alex Mendez assisted on Jong Ajax's second goal in its 4-3 win over MVV in the Dutch Eerste Divisive.



Mendez was starting his first game in more than five months. An injury sidelined him for most of the winter. He has played just 403 minutes for Ajax's second team in his second season in the Netherlands after his transfer from German club Freiburg.

    Assist Pleazzze!! Reading the headline made me curious and want to look at the nice ,thought-out pass Mendez made, instead I get to see a corner that's just kicked up in the air to  a bunch of guys in front of the goal not knowing who is going to head it. That's not how I look at an assist where anyone can kick a ball, willy-nilly and get credit.....
