TV: ESPN networks with air 19 USL Championship and League One games

ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes will carry 19 USL Championship and USL League One games in 2021.

The USL Championship schedule will begin on April 30 when the Phoenix Rising hosts the San Diego Loyal on ESPN2 and conclude with the final on Nov. 28 on ESPN or ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.

The Oakland Roots, the USL Championship's only new team, will host the Las Vegas Lights FC and new head coach Steve Cherundolo on July 10 on ESPN2. A week later, the Colorado Springs Switchbacks will host San Antonio FC on ESPN2 at their new 8,000-seat downtown stadium, Weidner Field.

The schedule will include the first game in USL League One history to air on national television: defending champion Greenville Triumph against Union Omaha on May 16 on ESPN2.

Games not on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Deportes will stream live on ESPN+.

“This is the biggest and brightest platform we’ve ever had for our league,” said USL executive vice president Court Jeske. “We are thrilled at the wide selection of games, clubs and landmark moments that will appear on national television this season. It’s a special thing for our league to be able to showcase our clubs and cities across the USL Championship and League One on ESPN’s networks in addition to streaming an incredible schedule on ESPN+.”<
