SA's 50th Anniversary (Still in the News): The Alexi Lalas covers

Alexi Lalas, now a Fox Soccer analyst, started making the news when helped Rutgers reach final fours in 1989 and 1990, leading him to the U.S. U-23 team, with which he reached the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. He became a celebrity with the USA 1994 World Cup team and helped the L.A. Galaxy win its first MLS Cup, 2002.
