The 26-year-old American Zack Steffen needed to make only one save, but it was a good one, in Manchester City's 1-0 Carabao Cup final win over Tottenham Hotspur. Steffen blocked Giovani Lo Celso's sharp, low 25-yard drive in the 47th minute with a one-handed, diving save. Man City, whose Aymeric Laporte struck in the 82nd minute with a header from Kevin De Bruyne's free kick, had 62% of possession en route to winning its fourth straight English League Cup.
Glad he got the opportunity for a big moment in the win after his mistake in the FA Cup. Big accomplishment and says something that Pep has stuck with him in Carabao and FA. Very interesting ahead of FA Cup match against Chelsea when he went on record that he'd lose the dressing room if he didn't start Steffen... assume that means he's got some fans amongst his teammates.
