Yanks Abroad: Zack Steffen's Manchester City clinches Premier League title

Goalkeeper Zack Steffen became the first American to play for a Premier League champion in its title season when Manchester City clinched the title on Tuesday.

Manchester United's 2-1 loss at home to Leicester City gave Manchester City a 10-point lead with only three games to play. The title was City's fifth in the last 10 seasons.

Steffen has played only one league game for City, a 3-1 win over Chelsea in December when Brazilian starter Ederson was unavailable due to COVID-19 protocols.

Steffen started when Manchester City defeated Tottenham, 1-0, to win the Carabao (League) Cup final. He has won 11 of his 12 starts in his first season with Manchester City.
