How big a draw was Sunday's wild USA-Mexico game?

The Concacaf Nations League final, which went to overtime, was the week's No. 1 program on all of U.S. television among adults 18-49 and 18-34.

The match averaged 4.2 million viewers overall, less than several other Sunday shows on network television, but all watched mostly by older viewers. The drama of USA-Mexico kept in and drew more viewers the later it went. It peaked at midnight ET with 4.9 million viewers.

The USA-Mexico game was the most-watched soccer match since the 2019 Gold Cup final between the USA and Mexico.

Indeed, USA-Mexico has consistently been the most-watched soccer match on U.S. television outside U.S. games for the Women's World Cup and most games for the men's tournament for the last decade. Sunday's game marked the fifth time in the last six years that the game averaged more than 4 million viewers on Univision
